We are looking for a Marketing Strategist to work on our Marketing Team and coordinate with our Creative Team, and Data Team to implement custom strategies that increase customer retention using email/sms, display ads, funnels, and more.

This involves following our playbook for campaigns that produce results according to our services and scope, as well as innovating new campaign ideas based on the data we analyze and using your technical marketing knowledge to increase KPIs.

Our ideal candidate is able to develop creative messaging and ensure client success. If you love cannabis, marketing, and have attention to detail—we want to meet you.

Ultimately, you’ll get to promote loyalty incentives, weekly specials, product launches, brand popups, and create a unique digital experience for our client’s loyal customers.

Mission of the
Marketing Strategist

To maximize client retention and revenue generated from campaigns by:

  • Increasing campaign revenue results
  • Following our playbook for our standard campaign strategies
  • Exploring innovative messaging methods
  • Build and manage client relationships during check-in meetings
  • Identify new client pain points and implement possible solutions
  • Build trust with our clients by being seen as the expert marketer

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with client to gather info and content for campaigns
  • Increase customer satisfaction and campaign success
  • Excellent presentation skills to handle monthly report presentations 
  • Collaborate with designers to strategize on-brand, high-converting email designs 
  • Analyze results and drive record-breaking numbers
  • Utilize a variety of email marketing platforms for all clients
  • Experience in implementing end-to-end campaigns, from copywriting to email building
  • Manage email marketing platform accounts for 7-8 figure stores
  • Conduct research and analysis on store/brand background, products, and customer
  • Designing and managing post-purchase email flows
  • Conducting split tests and optimizing email campaigns
  • Maintaining list quality through detailed checks

Qualifications:

  • Retention Marketing Experience: Proven experience in retention lifecycle marketing is a must, as is the ability to understand key concepts of retention such as churn, customer lifecycle, and marketing funnels with a focus in email marketing campaigns and adapting to various brand styles at the same time.

  • Marketing Fundamentals: Advanced knowledge of marketing theories and methods is a must. This includes basic principles of marketing and advertising, retention strategies, lifecycles, and key terminology.

     

  • Proven Experience with Email Marketing: Must have experience in full email campaign workflow—strategizing, segmenting, coordinating design & content, creating the campaign in an ESP with a drag & drop builder, checking for mistakes, scheduling campaigns, evaluating effectiveness, and adjusting strategies and content based on results. Applications without recent submitted marketing design examples won’t be taken into consideration.

     

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to campaign accuracy, audience segmentation, and other email marketing fundamentals.

     

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AIQ, Klaviyo, or similar platforms
    • Copywriting experience
    • Image graphic familiarity is a plus (jpeg, png, GIF, webp)
    • Ability to analyze complex data in spreadsheet form or web analytics

       

  • Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Able to present campaign results to the internal team and clients directly.

     

  • Innovation: Ability to suggest and implement new marketing methods and tools.

     

  • AI Tools: Experience with AI tools for possible integration into our campaigns but not to replace the excellent human touch.

Compensation

Salary will vary based on experience.
$60,000 – $70,000+ with opportunities for bonuses.

This is a client-facing role where creativity meets intelligence to deliver spectacular results for our clients’ stores. You’ll communicate regularly with clients to gather information that will be used to craft their marketing campaigns. 

The creation and implementation of those campaigns will be supported by the Campaign Team, which consists of an Email Marketer and Graphic Designer. You will relay the necessary information to the Campaign Team and have ownership of getting the campaigns from idea to scheduled. Results of campaigns will be checked daily to catch errors, spot trending successes, and analyzed weekly to track metrics.
